Welcome
WFP group was birthed on 3 November 2017 to the glory of God. The group enables christian widows to come together to encourage and support one another especially in a place of prayer. We believe that prayer is the key, since God promised specifically to answer a widow's cry to Him (Exodus 22:22-24). We also seek to give one another emotional, spiritual, and physical support through recreational holistic group activities and workshops as and when required.
Widowhood can most times be quite unexpected, traumatic and daunting for a woman and her children. We believe that this group of people has a special place in God's heart. We aim to help widows and their children reach this realisation and therefore find succour and solace in God at all times. God refers to Himself as the Husband of the widow and Father to the fatherless ("A Father to the fatherless, defender of the widows, is God in His holy dwelling" - Psalm 68:5). Other motivational scriptures are James 1:27 and 1 Timothy 5:3-16, to name a few.

As a group we share the word of God with prayer and praise through a regulated social forum. We pray together once a week via conference calling as we bring our individual and group requests before God. We provide emotional support for our members by calling and praying with them regularly as well as through recreational activity such as outing days and prayer conferences within the year.
Our Team
Toyin Sillo
Founder (WFP)
After being a widow for 18 years, Toyin decided to set up WFP group in order to provide support to women who have been widowed and who might be finding it difficult to adjust. Toyin found that her faith helped her get through a period of immense pain and wants to assist others who might be going through the same experience.
Ngozi Nwachukwu
Support Officer (WFP)
Ngozi lost her husband in 2009 and has been able to successfully raise her children who are all successful and love God. She believes she is in a position to help both younger and older widows find their feet.
